KRU - Chapter four - page four "Are you in trouble?" Salem asked, looking over at Ekko with worry.KRU - Chapter four - page four by *madKazzie
Ekko let out a little laugh. "If I was in trouble, the Great Elder would have sent Elder Warrick instead of you."
Salem shuddered at the thought. Elder Warrick was the Elder whom trained the students in combat. He was brutal on his students but even more so on Ekko because it was known among the Elders that Ekko possessed the ability to lead the Protectors; a small group of highly skilled Elders who fought along side the Burillian army. Salem was second best and he would occasionally become jealous of his friend but he always supported his fellow pupil and best friend. If there was any young Purple who deserved the position, he knew it was Ekko and he hoped he would fight by his side one day.
As they reached the balcony, Ekko gestured for Salem to stay behind, and walked out into the night air.
He stood bes

KRU - Chapter four - page three The sun had set over the mountains hours ago, leaving the sky above the forest in a dusk-like state for the rest of the night.KRU - Chapter four - page three by *madKazzie
The sky was a dark purple and red along the horizon but the stars could still be seen farther out into the darker part of the sky. The Burillian's home planet never went completely dark at night due to the sun's intensity. Through evolution, the Burillians developed their own bioluminescence to help them see at night because their pupils didn't dilate in darkness. Even with their own light, they still had poor night vision.
The occasional glow of a wild animal could be seen through the trees that lined the open field that surrounded the Monastery but for the Elder whom sat alone on the large balcony, he didn't need to see it to know it was there. This particular Elder was the oldest Burillian alive and had passed the average life span by over seventy years. He was known as the "Father" of a

KRU - Chapter four - page two Two weeks had gone by since Luka's incident in the crater. He had pulled Astrum and Switch aside and gave them lighter duties while the other soldiers mined the rest of the Korithium. Even though Luka knew the effects it had on them, he didn't want the Wronen brothers around the element to discover the power themselves. He was hell bent on keeping it from them until he was ready to set his plans in motion.KRU - Chapter four - page two by *madKazzie
It seemed every night he needed his "fix" of power or he would go into fits of the shakes and felt like he needed to vomit again. It frustrated him to no end at night when he would lie awake trying to figure out how to correct the problem. He soon had an epiphany and that was when he knew he needed the help from the scientist in order to make his plans a reality.
Each passing day, Luka seemed to have more angry outburst than usual over the littlest things. He didn't seem to notice or care but Switch

KRU - Chapter four - page one Night finally came for the exhausted soldiers after their first day of a new environment, new stress, and a lot of physical labor. The male and female soldiers retired to their tents, all of which were big enough for about fifty soldiers. They were separated as well, the males on the north side of the base and the females on the east side. The Commanding Officers were given their own individual tents and Astrum, Switch, and Z shared a giant tent to themselves as Z was just too big to be in tents with other soldiers while Astrum and Switch were deemed bothersome because of their glow. They didn't mind it much. They enjoyed the space of the empty tent. Z, however, found it hard to sleep while wearing his respirator.KRU - Chapter four - page one by *madKazzie
Only a few soldiers had the night shift, as they still had to keep the camp and the Korithium under watch. A few crates full of Korithium lay under a giant tarp to the west of the camp, next to the COs of KRU.

KRU - Chapter three - page eighteen Switch sat on the hood of a truck with a half empty beer in his hand and a full one beside him.KRU - Chapter three - page eighteen by *madKazzie
Astrum walked up to the truck and leaned up against the grill. Looking down at the ground and crossing his arms, he said "Switch, I am truly sorry for earlier."
Switch took a deep breath in while he looked at the can in his hand. "Do you not realize how screwed I would be if you died?" he said quietly but still abrasively.
The older Burillian side glanced at him sympathetically. "You would be fine, Darian."
"Bullshit!" he snapped, looking at Astrum now with a hurt expression. "I'm only going to say this once. I've always looked up to you for guidance and a voice of reason. Without you, I would be right back where I was when you left for the army eleven years ago. When you left me alone. I don't think I have to remind you how bad I was back then." Switch explained.

KRU - Chapter three - page seventeen Geek walked over to him was a concerned look. "Are you okay?" she asked.KRU - Chapter three - page seventeen by *madKazzie
"Yes." he replied, still looking at Switch with an annoyed expression as he was walking away.
"I have to agree with Switch, Az. What you did was brave but stupid." she said sternly, putting her hands on her hips.
"Now don't you start." he said angrily. "Luka is my Commanding Officer. It is my duty to protect him. He would have died."
"Maybe so but we would much prefer your life over his." she said bitterly.
Astrum looked appalled at her comment. "NO life is worth more than another!" he snapped. "He may be a prick but he doesn't deserve to be left alone to die."
Geek's shoulders slumped as she now regretted what she had said.
"You're right, Az. I'm sorry." she replied shamefully
His face softened and he put a hand on her shoulder. "It's alright

| What are your characters? They are Burillian, an original species created by me. Are they fan characters of (insert game/show/movie/comic)? Hell no. Are they aquatic? The blue ones look aquatic. No. Their skin is soft and non-slimy, just like ours. They don't have gills or fins. Just no. How did you come up with them? [link] This explains a little about the process of how I came up with them. Astrum was the first Burillian created in December of 2011. The rest of the characters soon followed. The whole process lasted over 5 months before I finally became satisfied with the design. Why are there red, blue, green and purple ones? Burillians have 4 races; red, blue, green and purple. Each race is born in a different region on their planet and each race are given specific jobs. Reds are the more physical race. They make up the military, physical labor, grunt work, etc. Blues are the more intellectual race. They make up the teachers, the scientists, doctors, etc. They are assigned the jobs that require a higher academic level. Greens are the caretakers, the farmers, the nurses, etc. They're the more gentle of the races. And finally, Purples are the "enlightened ones", the Elders of the species. They have a higher understanding of the energy that makes up their species and the universe. They spend their entire life training in combat and meditation and once they reach a certain age, they become an Elder on the council. They also have slightly different features. The Blues have more rounded antenna/energy receptors and tail tips, Reds have more sharper ones, Greens have more sharper ones as well but they're slightly curved towards their head as well as a sharper tip on their tails, and Purples have angled ones that are slightly outward. Females look slightly different than the males. They don't have patches on their skin and they have white hair. Do they all have patches of another color on their skin? Only the males. What are the glowing things? Those are the very life force of a Burillian. Burillians are very sensitive to the energy around them and are capable of using the energy as a defense mechanism. They can send out "shockwaves" of energy. Kind of like a bomb without the fiery destruction, just the force of the explosion. Hope that makes sense. If the light dims, they are sick or dying. The light also reflects how they're feeling. It gets more intense as they get angrier/excited. They are also capable of transferring their energy to another being to help heal them if they are sick or wounded. If you were to touch them, it feels like their skin. Think of it as putting your finger over a flashlight, the light shines through. That's kind how it works except the light is coming from the inside of their body. They also need the light to see in the dark because they have very poor night vision. Night time on their planet is our dusk, it doesn't go completely dark so they have no need for night vision. Can you explain what they have on their heads and why they're there? :thumb315506327: This ref explains everything. Do they have any special abilities? Yes, they have a few. Because they're so sensitive to energy, just by touching another being, they can feel that person's energy. They can tell with a simple touch of your skin if you're sick, how you're feeling emotionally, and can even tell if you're lying to them. They can also use their energy to defend themselves by sending out shockwaves. They can be as small or as big as they please but the bigger it is, the more of a risk they take with their life. What is their diet? They are strictly carnivores. They can eat any kind of meat but they prefer fresh, raw, red meat. They're not fond of fish. Are they part of your story K.R.U? Yes, they are all the main characters and the story revolves around them. Why do they have such small pupils? Their pupils don't work like ours. They stay the same size, hence why they can't see in the dark. But they don't need to when they give off their own light. How long do they live? 150 years on average. How tall are they? Males are between 5'5" and 6'5" and females are between 5'1" and 5'11". There are no physical abnormalities. Are they an open species/Can I make one? Yes but please give proper credit every time you post your Burillian character anywhere online, a link back to my dA page would be appreciated. I would also ask that you avoid using any markings (especially facial ones) similar to my characters Astrum, Switch, Luka, Dante, Eli/Ollie. They are identifying markings and are special to each of them. I'd also love to see your character if you make one! Why did you pick Red for your Bursona? I'm not smart enough to be a Blue, I don't give enough of a shit to be a Green, and I'm not wise enough to be a Purple. Still interested in knowing more? Feel free to ask!
